Everything you need to know about intelligent motorcycle helmets.

Smart motorcycle helmets are easy on the ears.

Many motorcyclists today wear an aftermarket headset while driving to be able to talk to other riders. Smart helmets take up this idea – and add some ingenious features. Because the intelligent helmets already have the communication system integrated and absorb ambient noise particularly efficiently.

For this reason, you don’t have to set the volume of the smart helmet very high – speech understanding is very good in any case. This not only protects the battery but also the ear. Intelligent helmets do not generate additional turbulence and air noise compared to aftermarket motorcycle headsets.

They are, therefore, a worthwhile investment, especially for riders of very fast bikes, because the penetrating noise means that you can hardly understand the other person.

Differences between helmet manufacturers

So far, only a few manufacturers have put the idea of the smart helmet into practice. The few producers who have decided to produce helmets – some even with head-up displays – have demonstrated the immense possibilities and potential of the new technology and proved that smart helmets not only improve comfort but also significantly improve driving safety.

All manufacturers focus on slightly different things. Some helmets are equipped with a complex communication system, others only with simple headphones that can be connected to a smartphone via Bluetooth. There are even smart helmets with electronic rear-view mirrors. So you always get a complete picture of your surroundings – a big plus in terms of security.

Most smart motorcycle helmets function like a high-quality headsets. They are controlled via buttons, your voice or remote controls, some of which can also be attached to the handlebars – a good thing because this significantly increases safety on the handlebars.
